What Is a VCF File?

A VCF (Virtual Contact File), also known as a vCard, is a universal file format for storing contact information — names, phone numbers, email addresses, and more. It's the quickest way to move contacts from your phone or email account into WeddAI.

Step 1: Export Your Contacts

You can export contacts using either your iPhone or a web browser.

Option A: Export from Your iPhone

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone.
  2. Scroll down and tap Contacts.
  3. Tap Export Contacts.
  4. Choose vCard as the format.
  5. Your iPhone will generate a .vcf file containing all your contacts.
  6. Save the file to the Files app or share it directly.

Option B: Export from Google Contacts (Web Browser)

  1. Go to contacts.google.com and sign in.
  2. (Optional) Select specific contacts by checking the box next to each one. Skip this step to export all contacts.
  3. Click Export in the left sidebar.
  4. In the pop-up window, select vCard (for iOS Contacts).
  5. Click Export — the .vcf file will download to your device.

Step 2: Locate Your VCF File

If you're unsure where the file was saved:

  • Open the Files app on your iPhone.
  • Check the Downloads folder, On My iPhone, or iCloud Drive.
  • The file will have a .vcf extension (e.g., contacts.vcf).

Step 3: Import the VCF File into WeddAI

  1. Open the WeddAI app on your iPhone.
  2. Select your wedding from the home screen.
  3. Tap the menu icon (≡) in the top corner.
  4. Select Contacts.
  5. Tap Import Contacts.
  6. Choose VCF Card Upload.
  7. Browse to the location of your .vcf file and select it.
  8. Once the file is processed, tap Done to complete the import.

Your contacts are now available in WeddAI and ready to be added to your guest list.
